Everyone wakes up in the morning and first cleans his teeth and mouth and then does the rest. People brush their teeth to clean them. Science says you should brush your teeth for at least 15-20 minutes. One expert says millions of us are brushing our teeth the wrong way.

London’s Marylebone Smile Clinic founder Dr. Sahil Patel says that he often sees his patients make many mistakes that can be dangerous to their oral health. One of the biggest mistakes people make is to wet the toothbrush before applying the toothpaste.

What happens when the toothbrush gets wet? Dr. Sahil said, if people wet the toothbrush before applying the toothpaste, it is wrong to do so. This is because the toothpaste already contains the right amount of moisture and if you wet the brush too, the excess moisture will cause foaming to occur quickly.

He also says that if your toothbrush is wet, it will lather up faster and you’ll get the toothpaste out of your mouth faster. Apart from this, vigorous brushing, interdental brushing with floss can also worsen oral health. What to do if there is dust in the brush? In this situation, the question will arise in the mind of many people that if we do not wash the brush, how can we avoid the dust that falls on it? Experts recommend that the toothbrush comes with a cap to protect it from dust. After brushing, put the cap on the toothbrush to prevent it from getting dusty.

Use such a brush. Sahil said, if the brush slips on the teeth, it will not work well. The brush needs to be cleaned when the teeth are hard so that it can also remove dirt from the corners while cleaning between the teeth. Floss cleans where the toothbrush can’t reach.

About how many times a day should be brushed, Dr. Sahil said, at least once a day should be brushed well. The problem starts when we brush our teeth regularly. But I would suggest that it is best to brush after waking up in the morning.

Dr. Patel also says that when you sleep, there is less saliva in your mouth, which causes the food you eat to stick to your teeth and decay throughout the night, which can cause major problems. So brush in the evening too.
